What I Do and Why…

John Patton Photography

Most important, I am a full-service boutique photographer. I will only do one shoot a day so that you know that you have all of my attention and we're not constantly looking at the clock. Also, there isn't any time limit. Our time together will take as long as it takes to get the shots that you want. I do have a studio, but I also shoot a lot outside. Having the studio affords us more options and weather isn't necessarily an issue. In addition, the studio gives us a place to meet to consult about your session, and afterwards, a place to look through your photos before placing your print order.

I don’t offer high-resolution digital files. I am here to serve you and have learned that I can’t do that by handing over a flash drive that will get lost or placed in a drawer and forgotten about. The portraits we make together are meant to be enjoyed as wall art in your home!

When I was a small child, I couldn't have been more than 4 years old, my parents had large portraits of us kids made. One with my brother and I in our Easter suits, another with my sisters in their ballet costumes. Growing up, we moved around a bit. But, those two large portraits were always there. Wherever we moved, I always felt I was at home when they were hung up in the living room. There were also many other family pictures around the house, typically 8x10s, but those two were special. I want my clients to be able to give their kids the same feeling I had.
